How can therapy help you?

Therapy can help you in several ways. It gives you an opportunity to talk to someone independent, outside of your family and friends; to share your thoughts and feelings with someone without judgement and discuss how your experiences have impacted you and your relationships. A therapist can help to support you when life is or has been challenging.

Therapy helps you to understand your thoughts and how they influence your actions and behaviours. This can help you make sense of events in your life which can lead to a more satisfying, postive, future.

What is integrative therapy?

Being an integrative therapist means I trained to use different kinds of therapy. What is successful for one person may not be as successful for another, therefore I will tailor the therapeutic technique to suit your needs.

I can work with you in several different ways to raise your awareness of how to change your current situation. The therapy is likely to differ when working with individuals, couples or families because the needs of the clients will be different.

What to expect from therapy?

A standard session will last 50 mins - 1 hour. Sometimes a longer session of 90 mins may be offered if appropriate. The first session will be an assessment of your situation and a discussion about what you want as an outcome from the therapy.

As your therapist, I will talk about what is involved and what the focus of sessions could be. You need to feel that we can work together so at the end of the first session you choose whether you are happy to continue for ongoing sessions.

I offer therapy for individuals, couples and families. My main therapeutic modalities are Systemic and Psychodynamic. I also use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and IFS (Internal Family Systems).
